What size bed should I choose?

You may have already figured out what type of bed your child should sleep in, but are you still unsure about what size bed will fit best in your home? Here are some considerations you should make:

How big is the child who will be using the bed?
How big is the room where the bed will be?

Whether you should choose a 70x160 cm, 90x200 cm, or 120x200 cm bed depends on the child who will be sleeping in it. It is recommended that the bed is 20 cm longer than the child who will be sleeping in it. Additionally, it is said that the larger the bed you choose, the longer your child can use it. However, you should make sure that your child feels comfortable sleeping in such a large bed if they are transitioning from their crib.

It is difficult to determine a specific age for when children should switch to a toddler bed. Many children will be ready for a toddler bed around 2.5-3 years old, but it is individual when your child is ready.

The size 70x160 cm is good for smaller children. It can be reassuring to sleep in a bed that is not much bigger than oneself and resembles the crib they have previously slept in. This size is very popular to use as a transitional bed before moving to a larger bed.

The sizes 90x200 cm & 120x200 cm are good for slightly larger children or for children who are comfortable with having plenty of space around them when they sleep. Many choose the larger size because there is plenty of room to grow and therefore the bed can be used for a longer time. A typical age for this size would be around 6-10 years old.

When we talk about the sizes 70x160 cm, 90x200 cm, and 120x200 cm, it is also important to remember that these sizes refer to mattress sizes and not the measurements of the bed itself. The exact measurements can be found under each bed. The thickness of the bed legs and edges depends on the bed series you choose. The ECO Luxury & DELUXE series have the thickest posts, followed by the ECO Dream, and finally the ECO Comfort with the least thickness.

The ECO Comfort toddler bed, with its size of 70x160, is perfect for small rooms or children who are not quite ready for a full-size adult bed yet. The bed is a small, nice, and cozy bed that can provide a secure base for the child for many years. It is perfect as an intermediate station between the baby bed and the adult bed.

The bed is Nordic ECO Label Certified. This label is your guarantee that the product complies with all EU standards for children's furniture and has been tested accordingly. At the same time, the greatest possible consideration is given to the environment both in the procurement of raw materials, during production itself, throughout the product's life, and when the product needs to be disposed of.

❔ Which mattress should I choose?

The bed is only as good as the mattress you choose to buy for it. Therefore, the choice of mattress is something that should be prioritized.

Hoppekids recommends the "ECO" mattresses:

ECO Dream
Recommended for the "ECO Comfort" series. ECO Certified mattress (Swan-labeled) with high-quality Waterlily® foam. Includes a mattress cover consisting of soft bamboo fibers on the outside with quilted thermould that removes moisture and heat from the body.

How high should the mattress be?
Hoppekids recommends the following mattress heights:

For "ECO Dream" & "ECO Comfort": 9 cm
For "ECO Luxury":: 12 cm

It is possible to use a different mattress height - however, one should be aware that it does not become too high. According to EU safety instructions, there should be a minimum of 16 cm from the mattress to the bed side.

🔧 Modularity

The ECO Comfort models are not modular, meaning they cannot be converted to other bed types.

If you desire a modular bed, we recommend taking a look at our ECO Dream or ECO Luxury series.

🚚 Delivery

Delivery of beds always takes place to the home address with a courier. When you order your bed, there will always be a Track & Trace number included where you can track your order. Our delivery partners will always make sure to contact you before delivery to ensure that you are present to receive the item.

What is the exact delivery date and time?

Due to the beds' long and complicated journey from the factory to the final address, it can be difficult to estimate an exact date and delivery time. Deliveries usually take 5 - 7 working days, except for any public holidays. Our logistics partner will always try to contact you by phone to confirm that you are present to receive your item.

Damages to goods during transport

If the goods have been damaged during transport, it is our recommendation that the goods are always received regardless. Based on the extent of the damage, with your help, we will identify which parts have been damaged and send replacement parts at no extra cost.

We have our own sewing room, where our skilled seamstresses create the fine textiles from our universes. The appliqués on curtains and other textiles are hand-sewn. We do this because it provides the best quality. At the same time, it is also more fun to touch for a curious child who is in the process of developing their senses.

Compact shipping

All furniture that is shipped is 'self-assembly'. The furniture is packed in such a way that we ensure minimal air in the package while ensuring that they arrive whole and undamaged. This is much more environmentally friendly because we avoid transporting unnecessary air.
